The Fast Cables story

Fast Cables was established in 1985. The company set up its manufacturing plant at 7-Canal Bank in Lahore and started producing general wiring and power cables for various clients. Fast Cables was the first company to offer direct marketing and sales of electrical cables, they started offering this service with an emphasis on customer satisfaction in the early 90s. 

Before the end of the decade, Fast Cables established their first two branches in Gujranwala and Multan. From 2000 to 2005, the company made major shifts as they moved from 7-Canal Bank to their new Head Office in Gulberg, opened up offices in Sialkot, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi and Islamabad and was renamed to 'Fast Cables & Co.' 

In the latter half of the decade, Fast Cables was then renamed for the second time to 'Fast Cables Limited' and opened new branches in Peshawar, Rahim Yar Khan, and Sahiwal. Before the decade ended, Fast Cables acquired their single largest order, PKR 100 million from The Coca-Cola Company.

During the 2010s, Fast Cables moved their Head Office to DHA in Lahore. These years presented multiple milestones for Fast Cables as they obtained international certifications for their power cables, and finished key projects for Metro Bus in Lahore, and the Centaurus Towers in Islamabad. 

Later in the decade, Fast Cables gained a lot of firsts. From their KEMA Gold Certification to the establishment of their 75kV Lab Testing Facility, the first one in Pakistan. Today, Fast Cables is one of the most trusted electrical cable manufacturers in Pakistan, even receiving FPCCI's Brand of the Year Award in 2017.

The recruitment process

There are three ways you can get a job at Fast Cables. You have the option of signing up on the application page in the Fast Cables' website where you are required to submit your CV together with basic personal and contact information. 

Fast Cables also offers a traineeship program, an internship program launched by Fast Cables to give fresh engineering graduates a chance to work for Fast Cables. All you have to do is to enter your email on the online internship form together with your transcript and CV. Chosen applicants will be contacted by the company HR department.

Remuneration

Entry-level employees at Fast Cables can earn as much as PKR 25,000 a month. That rate can get as high as PKR 35,000 depending on experience and performance. As your career progresses in the company, your salary as a manager can be around PKR 50,000 to PKR 100,000 per month.

Fast Cables has a systemised and standardised work culture. Every department and employee is expected to perform according to the standards placed upon them by the company. 

Social contributions

As an effort to give back to the community, Fast Cables has established the Fatima Latif Welfare Trust (FLWT). This nonprofit established the Al Falah Medical Center in Lahore, a hospital for the underprivileged.

The FLWT also offers short livelihood courses for women in various communities. Courses like domestic tailoring, cooking, and glass painting are offered to women so they can establish their own enterprises and support their families. Fast Cables and FLWT also launched the Fast Excellence Awards, an awarding body that aims to motivate excellent engineering students.
